Enemy of the State...

Remember the movie "Enemy of the State"? It was a movie in 1998 staring Will Smith, and the plot was a conspiracy regarding privacy. However it wasn't the plot that caught my attention, but the technological advancements big government had toward managing, monitoring, and governing communications mediums. It raises the question, "who monitors the Internet"? Many law enforcement agencies have units that monitor various Internet crimes. Internet crimes vary from fraud, identity theft, and even Ebay scams.

Further attempts have been made to govern the Internet. In recent news, the U.S. has just loosened its control over the Internet.

"For the average user this means nothing," says Kevin Anderson, blogs editor at Britain's "Guardian" daily. "In terms of the impact on the average users' daily lives, not much. It's definitely much more of a political issue, where there was a sense that the United States had tried to maintain control over certain aspects of the Internet longer than it should have, seeing that the Internet is very international now."- Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty

Now, with the playing feild open, the internet is more independent. It allows for everyone to share, use, and openly evolve with technology with fair control.
