When War Breaks Out, The Blogs Are There!
In the article "The Blogs of War", the technology and use of the internet and digital photos help bring the experiences and horrors or war. The access of computers, digital cameras, video cameras, and cell phones have changed the way soldiers communicate the experiences of war and life in the war zone to their family and friends back at home. In past wars soldiers were censored in what they could write in mail to family members and the mail would take long periods of time to be delivered. With the computer, soldiers can write blogs and emails that are sent across the world in an instant.
Where do you limit the context of what soldiers blog and email about? Who would monitor and regulate these venues that are part of an international internet?
These blogs also offer a venue where the soldiers describe events that haven't been released to the public press yet and also the gruesome aspects of the war with the horrors of patients in the hospitals. With people all over the world being able to read what these soldiers write about could be a public relations disaster for the US government. It provides a venue where the untold truth can be told without censorship of the government...for now.

War Blogs are a fascinating addition to the media of war. The wired soldier can communicate from across the world. This is a problem for the military because it is difficult to control these messages. At first the Pentagon did not intervene. Then reporter began to write about these blogs and they began to be noticed. Recently the Department of Defense has informed the soldiers in Iraq that they are not allowed to blog from the front.
