Digital Giants
TiVo, a program that allows you to, stop, pause, record TV at any time. The next step they are looking to take is allowing your TiVo remote to purchase items being presented on commericials or that guests promote on talk shows, such as Oprah and The Letterman Show.
“What we are trying to do is to create all the underpinnings of a future business model for television" says Thomas S. Rogers, chief executive of TiVo.
Amazon comes into the picture with this whole idea, being that most likely, they will be used for thier payment services. People will be able to record their shows, while purchasing the new CD from the guest on The Jimmy Kimmel using Amazons payment options, and then return to the show when you are finished.
This technology to me is great, you can pause or stop or rewind any show you want, this is great! I feel that commercials on the television because of this have a hard time making it, but I feel that with all the media being used on the web, that web commercials will take over from TV.
