Not in America!

"The Internet represents freedom, but not everywhere. Under the pretext of protecting morals, national security, religion and ethnic minorities, even the “spiritual cultural and scientific potential of the country”, many countries resort to filtering the Web in order to block some content ". Reporters Without Borders, “Internet Enemies"

In recent years countries like Saudi Arabia, Burma, China, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam also known as the "12 Internet Enemies" have build an alliance and are under Internet surveillance, which intel's banning any freedom of speech on the web by any citizen of their country. In the article, Reporters Without Borders, “Internet Enemies" it shows the statistics of the average persons imprisoned for going against the law sort of speak.

China being known as the tech capital because of their advancement in the world of technology has the highest imprisoned bloggers. Number of cyber-dissidents imprisoned : 49. However there are over 300,000,000 Internet users.

Oddly enough it is great to be an American because of the acceptance of freedom of speech which has been installed in us as young children. The first use of censorship here in America was during the Cold War when the government didn't want to any discouraging war news getting back to the states. Journalist had to hand in all documents to be censored before it was put in the U. S. papers.
