Cuban Intranet

After reading the article on Cuban internet, it is clear to me that Cuba and China are treating their citizens the same way when it comes to internet usage. It is well known that both of these countries are communists, so I can't help but think that this is a communist way of thinking.

In Cuba there is no intenet, it is an intranet. What does this mean? The internet is all the web sites world wide, while the intranet is all the web sites in Cuba. The intranet is Cuban made websites.

In the article the Cuban governement made it seem as though the reasoning behind the intranet is to protect its people from the evils of the internet.

"The new measures, which limit and impede unofficial use, constitute yet another attempt to cut off Cubans' access to alternative views and a space for discussing them," the human rights organization Amnesty International said. This is what other people throughout the world seem to think of what the Cuban governement is doing.

After reading the article I believe that the Cuban government is merely impeding the right of its citizens to further gain knowledge about the world. I also think that this is wrong and that everyone should have the right to learn as much as they can on the world.
