Cyberspace- A Declaration of Independence?

What a liberating expression of words that could bring a tear to the eye of a computer nerd. This article seemed to me to be a reaching out from computer people to have power and laugh in the face of large governments. Yet at the same time it brings up questions of security in my mind. With these computer people believing that they have unlimited freedom on the internet can scare anyone. Todays world is filled with crazy people that take pleasure in hurting others to get their 5 mintues of fame. With the availability of countless information to just about any topic, it provides the tools for all wrong-doers to accomplish their goals. Even though the internet in theory shouldn't be regualted, for the safety of people around the world, it should be slightly monitored.

Comments:
Monitored? or regulated? Or policed? Is cyberfreedom an open door for terror and crime? This is a big debate. Many believe we need some kind of watch dog to police the net. But who? The U.S.? The U.N.? No one can agree. Utopian ideals are meeting up with real world security fears.
