Wiretapping our Phone Lines

In the article Critics Slam Net Wiretapping Rule by Ryan Singel, he talks on the issue of wiretapping. The FCC is now making a rule that all phones should have wiretapping in their phones. Although, some can argue that this is violating our civil liberties. The FCC also insists that all old fashioned telephones get built in wiretapping into their telephones as well. "The FBI already has the necesary capabilites to conduct survelliance of interent activities, and the FCC'S order runs contrary to Congress' intent when it passed a law". This shows how they even want the interenet to be monitored. It seems like we live in a new world where everyone is always thinking about what the govenment plans to do next. I think that in a way wiretapping is good if we are giong to ctach bad people and put them away. On the other hand it does violate our civil liberties. In a way its a hard to think about, but in our lives today the govenment believes that this is the best way.
