On the Road to Bangalore
On the road By Tim Sullivan the article talks about how Palm Meadows in India is nice. It has nice streets and homes with Spanish roofs and nicely cutted grass. This shows how nice the town is and how much its like living on Long Island. "Before Christmas, colored lights go up around the windows of is tidy suburban homes, at Halloween, costumed children ring doorbells up and down the block". Although, they state that once you leave your town its bad. "Its mayhem once you leave the gates of the neighborhood". Sullivan goes on to talk about how India is doing better economically and how the community is growing. They even state that they have pizza deliveries. "Bangalore, once a quiet retirement town, has become the booming nexus odf Indies high-tech outsourcing world". Technology is also becoming very popular to Bangalore. For instance someone could get a car there but it could take a year to get. Although, now a days "living in Bangalore is 70 percent like living in America". What I found to be interesting was "weathly customers can wander through Indies air-conditioned shopping malls, but this is still a country where more than 800 million people survive on less then $2 a day". I thought that this was a cool fact because where we live in Long Island it seems like $20 a day is not enough. It is also interesting that when people come to visit they are concerned on what to tell children about the poor people knocking on their car windows. I think that would be a hard thing to explain to them and to think about how sad it is to have to beg for money. Lastly, India has really bad temperatures and can't wait until the snow.
